Wedding: Richard & Pei // Palm House

Richard & Pei booked me just 4 weeks before their wedding and I am SO glad I was free to photograph their wedding. The day started with me heading over to photograph Pei getting her hair and make up done (by the lovely Angela Williams) before the groom and his groomsmen came round to the house. In keeping with Chinese wedding tradition, the men were not allowed in the house to meet the bride until the bridesmaids were convinced that he REALLY wanted to marry her. Cue the testing! There were legs waxed, men up lamp-posts and large sums of money paid before they were finally let in for the groom to meet his bride. Next the tea ceremony began where Richard & Pei offered cups of tea to their elder family relatives starting with the brides parents. It was really intimate with just the family and bridal party there.

Pei had three different outfits for the day- the first being the traditional Chinese red dress, and the others vintage dresses that Pei wore for the Palm House ceremony and meal where all the other guests joined the family. I hope you enjoy looking through their photos...their little boy was so adorable that he features quite heavily!! Oh and look out for the amazing 'marquee' in the garden that Richard had built too!

I am a photographer, currently mainly shooting weddings and family portraits. Although I am based in Liverpool, most of the time I am travelling elsewhere in the country for work. I work in a documentary way which means I record what is going on without setting up photographs. I like it natural!
